Bottle of Smoke Press is a publisher of limited edition chapbooks & broadsides. Our publishing schedule for chapbooks has been filled for 2007. We publish an all-broadside “Magazine” every April. Previously unpublished work is welcome for this project. A SASE should be enclosed with all paper submissions, should you expect any unused works be returned to you. We regret that we cannot comment on your work or provide literary criticism.

Manuscripts should have the author's name and address on every page. Please, no simultaneous submissions. Please send no more than five poems at a time. More if the poems are very short, but please, no full book manuscripts without first contacting us.

Payment in all cases is made in contributors copies. We are very generous in our payment of contributors copies. Unfortunately, we cannot make cash payments for submissions.

Bottle of Smoke Press retains the copyright to the layout and design of the chapbook or broadside. The copyright for poetry and artwork submitted will remain with the poet/artist. This will be stated on the rear of the title page in all copies.

Anyone contemplating a submission is welcome to examine our chapbooks before sending a manuscript. Sample copies are available by following this link.

It should not have to be said, but please, no spam e-mail submissions, no simultaneous submissions and no poems about how “Jesus is Lord.” Most offenders (especially the poem spammers) never care to read submission guidelines, so these are here mostly to be able to mention in my blanket rejection of their submission.
